Releasing not one, but four brand new 3D printers shows a remarkable statement of intent on behalf of 5-year-old Hungarian manufacturer, CraftUnique. Following a company mission to offer a user-friendly ecosystem of reliable, plug-and-play 3D printers tailored to customers’ needs and feedback, CraftUnique is proud to launch the CraftBot Flow generation of printers.

Building on the foundation established with its CraftBot line of machines, the Flow generation is set to be CraftUnique’s best collection of 3D printers yet, emphasizing efficiency and innovation on the part of the user.

Designed to be your next workhorse, the Flow generation of printers is headlined by the impressive Flow IDEX-XL, the largest plug and play dual independent extruder printer of its market segment.

All CraftBot Flow 3D printers boast state of the art features as standard, beginning with larger than average build volumes. At the base of all Flow 3D printer build volumes lies a removable flexible Kapton-tape covered sheet that allows for easy removal of even the trickiest print.

A user-friendly mesh bed leveling system makes initial setup a breeze, aiding first-layer bonding and bringing a higher level of printing accuracy. Print-saving power-out protection allows you to resume printing following a blackout.

High-tech innovations further enhance the Flow generation of printers; enhancements such as the power-saving 32-bit Pr3dator motherboard – for more accurate and precise control over the printers’ motion – and the inclusion of the versatile Raspberry Pi microcomputer give Flow 3D printers incredible versatility in how you interact with and control them.

Boasting ultrafast response times and a unified user-interface over the top of a stable Linux operating system, CraftBot Flow 3D printers are designed for Industry 4.0 compatibility. Take direct control of the printer via PC over intranet or WiFi, and scale up with multiple machines in a farm, all remotely manageable using the provided Craftware software.

Printer status comes by way of LED indicators, a vibrant addition complimenting the 5-inch color touch screen display.

A reinforced double-shell steel frame paired to robust aluminum profiles give the CraftBot Flow Generation printers a rock-solid platform from which to print. Sturdy enough to survive the harshest of shipping conditions, these “tank” like machines are a dependable workmate for any requirement.

Reliable extrusion of the filament is facilitated by a new filament monitoring sensor. Using both electronic and mechanical sensors to regulate the flow of filament, the result should be fewer filament errors with fewer jams, clogs, or filament slippages.

The CraftBot Flow Generation line of printers all include all-metal hotends capable of high-temperature printing, expanding the printers’ material compatibility to specialist blends encompassing wood and metal-infused filaments, unleashing the creativity of the user.

CraftUnique’s experience in providing reliable and robust 3D printers through its interactive approach with its clients has led to a pioneering five-year warranty (5,000 hours) on the new Flow generation 3D printers. With this type of warranty, the end-user can rest re-assured of long-term operation of the Flow generation printers with the full backing of CraftUnique.

CraftUnique will be presenting its new CraftBot Flow 3D printers at Formnext this year. You can find the company in Hall 12 Level 1 at booth A109 to get into the flow. Visit craftbot.com/flow

The Flow Generation

Above is all that the four Flow Generation printers have in common. Here is what sets them apart.

CraftBot Flow

A deceptively compact workhorse that offers an exceptional build volume of 300 x 200 x 250 mm, the Craftbot Flow can print up to 200 mm/s, with a maximum hot end temperature of 300 degrees Celsius. The removable heated bed can heat up to 110 degrees Celsius.

At the business end of printing, the CraftBot Flow features a single direct drive extruder for fast prototyping of mono-material objects.

CraftBot Flow XL

The larger version of the already-pretty-large CraftBot Flow, the Flow XL is the same in all but build volume, where it supersizes the Z-axis to an extraordinary 500 mm, bringing the build volume to 300 x 200 x 500 mm – among the largest desktop build volumes for a single extrusion printer available today.

Again, a single print head with a direct drive extruder handles the printing. A large-format workhorse for demanding long-distance prints.

CraftBot Flow IDEX

Occupying a longer frame than the other Flow Generation printers, the Flow IDEX features a build volume of 425 x 250 x 250 mm and makes use of an independent dual extruder (IDEX) motion system to fabricate multi-material and multi-color prints.

Using an IDEX system effectively doubles the user’s performance, unlocking productivity-boosting print modes that make use of both print heads at the same time. Mirror mode uses both print heads to simultaneously print mirror versions of the same model. Duplication, following the same principle of both print heads active at once, creates an identical copy using the second print head. Both print modes make high volume production a reality, in addition to the ability to print complex multi-material models and geometrically difficult shapes supported by water-soluble PVA material.

As with the Flow and Flow XL, the Flow IDEX heats to 300 degrees Celsius, has a removable bed that heats to 110 degrees Celsius, and can print at up to 200 mm/s. The print heads are both direct drive.

CraftBot Flow IDEX-XL

And finally, and most noteworthy for its size, is the Flow IDEX-XL. A massive unit with a build volume of 425 x 250 x 500 mm, it is one of the largest IDEX plug-and-play printers currently available in the marketplace

As with the Flow IDEX, the Flow IDEX-XL benefits from productivity-enhancing print modes, in addition to multi-material and multi-color printing possibilities.

All other figures match up to the rest of the Flow Generation printers: 300 degrees Celsius hot end, 110 degrees Celsius heated bed, and up to 200 mm/s print speed. The Flow IDEX-XL is an oversized workhorse for exceptional and complex projects.
