As every day consumers become better acquainted with the tremendous capabilities of 3D printing, more people have started to experience the tremendous satisfaction of 3D printing an object of their own creation. But when we’re talking about bringing multi-color and multi-material 3D models to life, this ability is oftentimes restricted to those with more expensive professional 3D printers.

The world of multi-color and multi-material 3D printing is evolving day by day, but it is still out of reach for many users. But this month, a new product that aims to provide more accessibility to multi-material 3D printing was announced. Co Print Tech, the strategic partner of famed 3D printer manufacturer Creality, has announced a Multi-Filament Module for its users.

After recently launching a Kickstarter campaign to back the new project, Co Print Tech raised $100,000 in just 36 hours, showcasing a sizable interest in this intriguing attachment. So what exactly is this multi-material module and how does it work?

Co Print Makes Color and Multi-Material 3D Printing More Accessible

This unique multi-filament module, named Co Print, is an accessory that turns Bowden extruder-based FDM 3D printers into multi-filament 3D printers. This isn’t just your average dual extruder attachment. Co Print is able to print with up to seven different materials at once, giving users unimaginable flexibility in what they can create.

Hobbyists, designers, and professionals who want to simultaneously 3D print objects with different colors and materials, but don’t have access to a multi-material 3D printer, will surely be interested in this new 3D printing module.

“We want to bring excitement to the industry with Co Print. We wanted to increase the object width that existing FDM printers can produce without the need for industrial 3D printers for different sectors.’’ says Fatih Kazım Duymaz, CEO of Co Print 3D Tech. “We designed Co Print to innovate against the disadvantages of existing solutions in the market, such as cost-effectiveness, simple operating system, and easy interface.”

With a unique open-ended design and compatibility with the world’s most popular slicing programs, Co Print is suitable for almost any FDM 3D printer on the market. Co Print can be installed onto a 3D printer in less than 10 minutes, giving users the ability to get started with multi-color or multi-materials without delay.

Here are some of the highlights:

  • 7 filament output allows for endless color and material combinations.
  • Co Print has a minimalist design and measures out to 63mm x 133mm x 173mm.
  • It comes equipped with 1.8-inch user-friendly interface
  • It can be assembled and ready to print in less than 10 minutes.
  • Open-ended design is compatible with all Bowden FDM 3D printers.
  • A configuration is available for Direct Drive extruder 3D printers.
  • It’s designed with a high-quality feed system to prevent filament jamming or other issues.
  • Hardware design features a clear panel that allows users to monitor the printing process.

“We aimed to contribute to the vision of reaching the true potential of 3D printers by creating the potential of cost-effective and high-performance multi-filament 3D printing for different sectors.” continues Duymaz. “We believe that we can make changes in many sectors such as education, health, industry, and hobby with Co Print, which is easy to use, compact and affordable.”

Co Print Tech and Creality’s has launched a Kickstarter campaign to support the Multi-Filament Module that ends on December 24. Backer rewards include massive discounts starting at £300. According to the Kickstarter campaign, super early bird backers will receive extra filaments and nozzles with their module. In addition, 2-packs and 5-packs that are exclusive to Kickstarter backers will be available at a heavily discounted price.

The manufacturer hopes to start shipping its first units to Kickstarter backers in March 2022, while full production is planned to begin a month later.
