3Doodler, the makers of arguably the world’s best-known 3D pen, has launched its first mobile app which features tutorials and projects. The app, which provides weekly additions, will help adults and kids develop 3D products at home.

After downloading the app from either the App Store or Google Play, users will be able to follow step-by-step instructions on a range of projects including stencils which use your device as a canvas. That’s right, your kids will be encouraged to doodle on your phone or tablet…

“Over the last few years, we’ve emphasized the ability to make a phone case using a 3Doodler pen,” said co-founder Maxwell Bogue. “But with the app, the 3Doodler’s capability to work with your device makes it easier than ever to create. It’s also more environmentally friendly than printing out a stencil.”

3Doodler emphasizes that it is working on taking creators away from screens and into the physical world.

3Doodler Focus on Education in 2019 Product Lines

As well as the announcement of the new 3Doodler App, the company also launched its 2019 product lines. For this year, 3Doodler is focusing on education.

The 2019 3Doodler EDU, Create+, and Start product lines involve two new family-friendly kits, called the Robosumo Activity Kit and the Alphadoods Character Kit, for the 3Doodler Start Pen.

The Robosumo Activity Kit will cost $24.99 and will enable kids to build mini sumo battle-bots. The finished bots then face off against each other in a Sumo ring.

The Alphadoods Character Kit costs $19.99. Kids can create a character for “adventures of all kind”. 3Doodler describers the characters are fun and individualized and a “3D printed Flat Stanley meets 21st Century Mr. Potato Head.”

Other kits available from 3Doodler include the Anatimo Activity Kit, the Scientifico Activity Kit, and the Robodino Activity Kit.

If you’re a teacher, you may be interested in the company’s EDU Learning Packs. These were designed alongside teachers and include 6 or 12 Start or Create+ Pens per pack and filament, exclusive teaching materials and lesson planes.

“In the classroom, 3Doodler enables hands-on, fun, easy-to-use experiences that create a lasting impact on every student,” said 3Doodler’s Head of EDU Leah Wyman. “We’ve seen the raw and transformative effect of 3Doodler in classrooms of every size, and in every subject, whether in private schools, low-income schools, after school programs, makerspaces, libraries and more.”

The company’s EDU Learning Packs are distributed through major retail and e-commerce sites. Find out more about the company’s latest launch by visiting its website.
